There is #NoExcuse for online abuse
Digital tools should empower women and girls to amplify their voices and expand their opportunities. Yet for many, online spaces have become places of harassment, intimidation, and abuse. A simple comment or post can escalate into threats. Personal information can be exposed in seconds. Deepfakes and manipulated images are used to shame and silence women, especially those who dare to lead.
This year, the 16 Days of Activism (25 November – 10 December) focuses on the theme UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls. The campaign highlights how technology is increasingly misused to reinforce inequality, and how we can work together to reclaim digital spaces for safety, dignity, and respect.
