Note to Correspondents

The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Myanmar Knut Ostby is following with great concern the flooding and extensive devastation caused by heavy rains in Bago, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Sagaing and other States.

His thoughts are with all those families whose lives have been impacted and is alarmed by the destruction of property, infrastructure and agricultural land.

The UN in Myanmar is mobilizing its partners, resources and capacity and is offering to provide support to the ongoing assistance delivered to the victims of the floods by the Government of Myanmar, civil society organizations, volunteers and other partners.

ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံဆိုင္ရာ ကုလသမဂၢဌာေနကိုယ္စားလွယ္ႏွင့္ လူသားခ်င္းစာနာေထာက္ထားမႈဆိုင္ရာ ညိႇႏိႈင္းေရးမွဴး မစၥတာကႏြတ္ေအာ့စ္ဘီသည္ မိုးသည္းထန္စြာ ရြာသြန္းမႈေၾကာင့္ ပဲခူး၊ ကရင္၊ မြန္၊ ရခိုင္၊ စစ္ကိုင္းႏွင့္ အျခားေသာ ျပည္နယ္မ်ားတြင္ ျဖစ္ပြားလ်က္ရွိသည့္ ေရႀကီးေရလွ်ံမႈမ်ားႏွင့္ ႀကီးမားလွေသာ ပ်က္စီးဆံုးရံႈးမႈမ်ားကို စိုးရိမ္ပူပန္ျခင္းႀကီးစြာျဖင့္ မျပတ္နားစြင့္လ်က္ရွိပါသည္။

အသက္အႏၱရာယ္ရင္ဆိုင္ခဲ့ရသူမ်ား၏ မိသားစုမ်ား၊ ပစၥည္းဥစၥာမ်ား၊ အေျခခံအေဆာက္အံုမ်ားႏွင့္ စိုက္ပ်ိဳးေျမမ်ား ပ်က္စီးဆံုးရံႈးရျခင္းေၾကာင့္ အထိတ္တလန္႕ျဖစ္ေနၾကရသည့္ မိသားစုမ်ားအားလံုး အတြက္ ဆုေတာင္းေမတၱာပို႔သလ်က္ရွိပါသည္။

ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံရွိ ကုလသမဂၢအဖြဲ႕သည္ ၎၏ မိတ္ဖက္မ်ား၊ အရင္းအျမစ္မ်ားႏွင့္ စြမ္းေဆာင္ရည္မ်ားကို ႏိႈးေဆာ္စည္းရံုးေနၿပီျဖစ္ၿပီး ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံအစိုးရ၊ အရပ္ဘက္လူမႈအဖဲြ႕အစည္းမ်ား၊ ေစတနာရွင္ျပည္သူ မ်ားႏွင့္ အျခားမိတ္ဖက္မ်ားမွ ေရေဘးသင့္ျပည္သူမ်ားအတြက္ ေဆာင္ရြက္ေပးလ်က္ရွိေသာ အကူအညီမ်ား၊ အေထာက္အပံ့မ်ားတြင္ ပါဝင္ကူညီပံ့ပိုးေပးမည္ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ကမ္းလွမ္းေနပါသည္။
